Coming off of their second and third race of the season, Iowa Central runners Chloe Garcia and Kelvin Bungei were both named national athletes of the week by the NJCAA.
Bungei claimed his second win and Garcia placed top 10 among the field. Both athletes earned this title following their performances at the Luther All-American invite. Sophomore, Bungei, has been named athlete of the week three times in his Iowa Central career, alongside multiple national titles in both track and cross country. Freshman, Garcia, has been one of six women in Iowa Central history to receive this title.
With a successful start to the season, the rest of the fall looks promising for these two athletes and their teams.
