This past Sunday, Jeopardy game-show host Alex Trebek died from
pancreatic cancer. Trebek’s battle lasted almost two years long, after
he first announced his stage four diagnosis back in March of 2019. He
told his audience that he was aware of the outcomes from these types
of battles, but he was going to continue to fight anyway.
Alex Trebek was originally from Canada, and ended up getting
married and having three children. A year later, after gaining his
citizenship to the United States, Trebek was awarded a star on the
Hollywood Walk of Fame.
This talented T.V. personality will always be remembered for his
rich television career. Alex Trebek became a household name, and he
influenced many different generations throughout his career. On top of
hosting the National Geography Bee for twenty-five years, Trebek also
won five daytime Emmy awards, along with a lifetime achievement award
for outstanding game show host from the television academy.
Alex Trebek was known as someone who cared for his entire
community, and would often donate to charities such as the World
Vision, USO, and the National Geographic Education Foundation. Fans of
the show Jeopardy will remember and cherish the beloved Alex Trebek,
who’s played a big role in their lives.
